I Can't Wait to Meet John the Baptist

I can’t wait to meet John the Baptist.

He came as a witness to testify about the light — so that ALL might believe. There it was: the true Light. The genuine, perfect, steadfast Light. John 1:6–8.

His passion, his steadfast devotion to his mission — it is just awesome. I want to be like Jesus in every way. That is my goal, to become more attuned with his ways, his thoughts, his love. But John — John had the fire that proclaims unwavering belief. He knew who this Nazarene truly was and was not ashamed, gloried in the fact that he was witness to his coming.

When I get to heaven I want to sit with John. Hear his stories. Feel his passion. Who knows — maybe even eat bread dipped in cream and honey together. He is welcome to all those locusts, though.
